A CFD-Based Parametric Thermal Performance Analysis of Supply Air Ventilated Windows

Ventilated windows have the potential to contribute both indoor air quality and energy efficiency in cold climates. A typical ventilated window functions as a solar collector under inward flow direction incident radiation. The is modification of multiple pane which drawn from outside heated through conduction, convection, radiation cavity. In this study, detailed parametric analysis was conducted investigate thermal performance their capacity preheat ventilation air. High-resolution 3D steady RANS computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations were performed for six geometries. Model results compared with measurements. following geometric characteristics evaluated detail: (i) height window, (ii) width cavity, (iii) location double-layered glazing, (iv) supply opening. suggested that taller cavities smaller cavity depth can provide higher incoming temperature. Windows inner glazing opening displayed better performance.
